As first asked in the Blockchain PM telegram group, what challenges do you face as blockchain PM? Are they unique to the crypto space or similar to the challenges you’ve faced when managing non-crypto teams?
generally there's two sets of challenges I categorize into:
1. product challenges that aren't blockchain industry dependent, usually involving the role & team dynamics (things like useless meetings and "busy work" would be assigned here).
solutioning instead of probleming
doing way too much
really clarifying your communication and writing in long form, and helping others do the same
less "hey do this", and more clarify the focus and getting people onboard
2. product challenges involving the product itself
At a high level, the biggest challenge is creating a product that is abstracted away from the complexity of contracts, meta-transactions, and all of the jargon of blockchain. People want a simple usable product that achieves the idealized end result without needing to fuck around with complex technology.
